• ThursdayNorth Island, showers clearing about Kapiti, and in the east from Gisborne to Wellington. Showers easing later in western regions. South Island, becoming fine in the west and about Nelson, cloudy in the east, with some showers in the morning about Marlborough.
• FridayNorth Island, fine in the east from Gisborne to Wellington, and also Kapiti, showers clearing from Taranaki down to Manawatu. A few showers elsewhere. South Island, showers in the west and about Nelson, turning to rain in Fiordland later. Generally fine in the east.
• SaturdayNorth Island, mainly fine in the east, increasing showers in the west. South Island, some heavy thundery rain in the west, a period of rain and a southerly change in the east.
• Chatham IslandsOn Thursday, increasing cloud with southwesterlies dying out. Some rain on Friday with strengthening northerlies. Saturday brings rain and gale northwesterlies.
