Flooding occurred from East Cape to southern Wairarapa during a period of heavy rain. Greytown recorded 92.4mm of rainfall in 24 hours, resulting in severe flooding. Winter feed (which was desperately short) was washed away, as was many kilometres of fencing.This was the highest 24 hour rainfall total at Greytown since the Waihine Storm in 1968.
